WELCOME

Julie Cardoza, LMFT, RYT, EMDRIA Approved Consultant, provides therapy that honors the profound connection between mind and body. As an Integrative EMDR Therapist, with over 25 years of experience in behavioral health, she draws from Neuroscience and Somatic Therapy, Polyvagal-Informed Practices and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Her approach incorporates trauma-informed movement, mindfulness, and breathwork practices from her yoga background, creating a comprehensive framework for nervous system regulation and emotional well-being.

Specializing in midlife transitions, Julie understands how hormonal changes during menopause intersect with trauma and nervous system regulation. Her holistic approach supports both men and women navigating the unique challenges of aging, second careers, and finding purpose in life's second chapter, with particular expertise in the complex neurobiological landscape of menopause.

Through Morning Altars (tm) and Ecotheraplay (tm), Julie offers a unique path for those navigating major life transitions, trauma, and grief. This mindful practice helps clients discover beauty amid deep pain, creating sacred space for healing and transformation.

As an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Polyvagal Specialist,  and adjunct faculty at the Trauma Therapist Institute, Julie creates trauma-informed, shame-free learning environments for clinicians developing their Trauma Therapy and EMDR skills. Her neuro-informed perspective helps clients and consultees understand their experiences through the lens of brain-body connection, fostering deep healing and professional growth.

Individual Therapy

Julie works with adults experiencing anxiety, stress,  depression, grief,  PTSD and complex trauma with specialized expertise in midlife transitions, menopause, and the intersection of trauma with life's second chapter.. . As a Polyvagal Specialist and integrative EMDR therapist, she brings a sophisticated understanding of the nervous system's role in healing. Her neuro-informed approach helps clients understand their responses to stress and trauma while creating pathways for lasting transformation,  particularly during the complex neurobiological changes of midlife and menopause.

Polyvagal-Informed Therapy

Julie's expertise in Polyvagal Theory allows her to help clients understand their nervous system patterns and develop practical tools for regulation. By integrating this understanding with mindful movement, breathwork, and somatic awareness, she guides clients in restoring their natural capacity for safety and connection. This science-backed approach helps explain why we respond the way we do to stress and trauma, providing a roadmap for healing that honors both mind and body.  For midlife clients, this includes understanding how hormonal changes during menopause affect nervous system regulation and trauma responses.

EMDR Therapy

Julie's approach to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) uniquely integrates her polyvagal expertise with mindful movement and somatic awareness. This comprehensive therapy addresses past experiences, present challenges, and future possibilities. Through EMDR's research-backed protocols enhanced with nervous system regulation, clients discover that past events don't have to continue controlling their present or future experiences.  Her specialized approach recognizes how midlife transitions and menopause can bring unresolved trauma to the surface, creating opportunities for profound healing and transformation.More information about EMDR

EMDR Intensives
Accelerated Healing Through Mind-Body Integration

EMDR Intensives offer a powerful pathway for transformative healing from trauma, anxiety, and depression. Rather than traditional weekly therapy, these focused sessions allow you to dedicate concentrated time to your healing journey—typically three-hour sessions over one to two days.

EMDR Intensives integrate neuroscience-informed approaches with somatic therapy, trauma-informed movement, and mindfulness practices. This comprehensive approach helps you develop a deeper connection with your body while processing past experiences and building resilience.

Your Intensive Journey: Pre-Intensive Consultation: We begin with a thorough consultation to understand your goals, assess your support system, and identify specific areas for healing. You'll receive a customized workbook and assessments to prepare for your intensive experience and help me create a tailored approach for your needs.

Rates begin at $175/hr
